The nationally recognized School of Journalism & Broadcasting at Western Kentucky University is seeking a full-time, tenure-eligible assistant professor who is a content-driven reporter adept at storytelling with both traditional and cutting-edge technologies. The successful candidate will have experience in writing for print and digital platforms as well as skill in and appreciation of interacting through social media.

Responsibilities: In addition to teaching courses in news writing, intermediate and advanced reporting as well as multiplatform news, the successful candidate will also be expected to teach one or two School core courses per year. Other responsibilities include research/creative work, student advising and service to the School and University.
A Master's degree appropriate to the appointment and a minimum of 5 years of professional media experience OR a terminal degree (MFA/Ph.D.) appropriate to the appointment plus 3 years of professional media experience. Candidates should have a record of exceptional teaching and service in a professional and/or university setting.
