Position description

The International Labor Rights Forum is a human rights organization that advocates for workers globally. The Development and Communications Associate will report to the Senior Development Officer and will provide support to the Campaigns Director. They will be a key member of the ILRF Development team, playing an integral role in the organization's communications, administration, and fundraising. Responsibilities include donor communication, donor events planning, board committee coordination, and database administration and maintenance. This job is an excellent opportunity to grow your understanding of donor relations, nonprofit management, and international human rights advocacy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Development Support (60%)
• Develop and manage ILRF's individual donor outreach programs for high level and recurring donors in close consultation with Senior Development Officer and Executive Director, including representing ILRF in meetings with donors
• Prepare and implement donor outreach, including writing fundraising communications via email blasts and social media tools, soliciting donations, and producing donor acknowledgments
• Work closely with Executive Director and Senior Development Officer to plan and carry out logistics and communications for donor events
• Evaluate and strategize with staff and board about how to grow ILRF's annual awards event
• Perform data entry and regular maintenance tasks for ILRF's constituent database, including logging and tracking donor information, donations, and acknowledgments
• Assist with the research of grant prospects, outlining of pre- and post- proposal tasks, and provide additional support for writing and editing of grant proposals and reports
• Produce timely and accurate fundraising reports including metrics analysis

Communications and Campaigns (40%)
• Help to expand ILRF networks into new constituencies of activists and funding circles
• Support coordination between the campaigns and communications team and the development team in order to align strategies and schedule online fundraising outreach and other program related communications
• Support campaigns team through drafting letters, blogs, and social media content
• Write and design annual report and other organization-wide materials

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
• Two years of experience in donor relations, nonprofit administration, and event planning
• Experience with CRM systems (i.e. NeonCRM, Blackbaud, ActionNetwork, or SALSA) and payment processing tools (i.e.Authorize.net, Paypal)
• Experience in the planning of fundraising events including managing vendors, designing marketing materials, and coordinating event pre-planning and day-of activities
• Excellent writing and editing skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented

• Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple work streams
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks
• Ability to represent ILRF professionally at meetings and coordinate effectively with ILRF staff and allies
• Proactive approach to troubleshoot and address potential problems
• Tech-savvy and proficiency with Microsoft Suite
• Enthusiasm for ILRF's mission
• Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications
• Graphic design skills and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
• Proficiency with Drupal
• Excellent communications skills, including public speaking and media work

Job status: Full-time, exempt, member of IFPTE Local 70 Bargaining Unit.
