Join Prevalent Inc (prevalent.net) the leading third party risk management and cyber security company as we stand up our Northern Virginia/DC office. We are recruiting for multiple roles: risk analyst, open-source commercial intelligence researcher, and data scientist to join our Vendor Threat Intelligence Team. Through our technology platform, we work with the world’s leading companies and industry groups so that our customers have the intelligence they need into their third party relationships to take appropriate risk management and security measures. Our Vendor Threat Intelligence Team brings a unique method to this work and the technology drawing on our diverse experiences in national security, foreign policy, information security, cyber threat, supply chain risk, and financial services. All team members are expected to play key roles in building the team, bringing a unique view to the problem of third party risk, and interacting directly with Fortune 500 clients. In turn, team members will gain hands on experience with how cyber and business risk are converging; how national security issues impact the business world; and how research, analysis, and risk translates into an industry leading SaaS technology platform. 

 Open-source Intelligence Analyst:

Prevalent Inc. is looking for entry-level open-source intelligence analysts to join our Vendor Threat Intelligence team in Northern Virginia. Day to day responsibilities will focus on conducting open-source research to assess vendor risk in multiple areas including cyber, operational, brand, financial, and legal. This is an entry level position suitable for an ambitious, hardworking, recent college graduate or those with 1 to 2 years’ experience, preferably in cyber threat intelligence, information security, risk analysis, or open-source intelligence.

Key Role:
Conduct in-depth research and analysis on industries and companies in industries ranging from high tech to finance to energy. Integrate knowledge of complex global political and cultural issues into assessments of commercial and supplier risks. Use cutting-edge research techniques, including foreign language research, Big Data analytics, and social media analysis to provide government and commercial clients with deep insights that drive business operations, strategies, and risk management. Research and evaluate complex commercial and security issues, including providing an oil and gas company with an operations risk assessment for a high-risk foreign market. Impact client operations, work with a group of diverse and accomplished colleagues, gain exposure to industry leading data collection and analytical tools, and learn through ongoing training and intensive on-the-job apprenticeship. This position requires minimal travel.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Conduct on-line information and data searches
  • Interpret data, analyze results and provide ongoing reports
  • Find sources for data collection and implementation.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in data sets
  • Support customer needs to include training on our technology platform
  • Assure the quality of data and results delivered to the customer
  • Prefer experience and ability to conduct research in a foreign language including Russian, Chinese, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, and Arabic

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • -BA or BS degree in Business, Economics, Economietcis, International Affairs, Political Science, Foreign Area Studies, National Security Studies, Linguistics, Business, Library Science, or research-related field preferred; MBA, MA, or MS degree in International Affairs, Political Science, Foreign Area Studies, National Security Studies, Linguistics, Business, Library Science, or research-related field a plus
  • Knowledge of Internet-based research, including Boolean logic, search engine and database resources, and Internet sources, such as social media, social networking tools, and commercial and industry-based databases

 Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience of interest in information technology or information security
  • Experience with foreign language-based research
  • Interest in technology and analytics
  • Experience or interest in risk models or modeling
