The George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-accruing, visiting faculty position as Professor of the Practice of International Affairs for a one-year term beginning as early as Fall, 2017. Academic rank will be based on qualifications and experience. This position will be based in the Elliott School’s Global Gender Policy Program and affiliated with GW’s university-wide Global Women’s Institute.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
This faculty member will oversee the delivery of the global gender policy curriculum, teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and engage the broader academic and policy communities.
Applicants must have a graduate degree in a relevant field by date of appointment. This could be an M.A. or Ph.D. in one of the social sciences, public policy, or another relevant discipline or interdisciplinary field; or a professional degree such as a JD or MD in a relevant area. Applicants must have at least seven years of relevant professional experience (e.g., in government, nongovernmental organizations, international organizations, or the private sector) related to global gender issues in developing countries, including security and conflict problems.
