Sentinel Strategy and Policy Consulting, LLC (SPC) is seeks Intelligence Analysts with a background in geopolitical intelligence analysis and/or illicit trade to support public sector projects in the homeland security field. Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance is required and an existing TS/SCI is strongly preferred. Please read all the way to the bottom of this job posting for specific application instructions.

Position Details

Sentinel seeks candidates with a TS/SCI clearance and a strong background in intelligence analysis or illicit trade to contribute to its public sector practice. We are looking for bright, energetic, and entrepreneurial individuals to join the firm and contribute to its success and growth in the years ahead. 

This position will entail full-time work (40+ hours per week) on at least one public sector project in the Washington, DC area.  The consultant will work as part of a larger SPC and government team responsible for developing a thorough understanding of agency mission and priorities, and advising management accordingly. Because the Consultant will regularly interact with agency leadership, successful candidates must display a high level of professionalism, superior written and oral communication skills, and excellent judgment. Please note that in addition to work on the primary project, the Consultant may be asked to assist with other public and private sector initiatives, and will eventually have the opportunity to participate in other aspects of SPC’s work.


Successful applicants will possess the following qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of analytical experience in one or more intelligence disciplines and/or related intelligence system software tools
  • Graduate or undergraduate degree in a related field (e.g., International Relations, International Trade, Public Policy, Law, Government)
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance and DHS suitability (U.S. citizenship is required)
  • Candidates for the geopolitical intelligence position must possess knowledge of worldwide geopolitical events, worldwide socio-economic conditions, regulatory and legislative dynamics, and international relations and diplomacy, as well as the ability to provide analytical, technical, and management support for a Joint Service Architecture (JSAC) concept.
  • Candidates for the illicit trade position must possess knowledge of U.S. and international trade law and trade enforcement actions, as well as the ability to author products in accordance with ICD standards 203 and 206.
  • Superior research, analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write professionally, and to present findings to senior government decision-makers
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including a high level of confidence and motivation
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task and to make decisions in a fast-paced environment, often under time constraints

Preference will be given to applicants with one or more of the following:

  • An active U.S. Government TS/SCI clearance 
  • A graduate degree in a related field
  • Experience at the Department of Homeland Security
  • Prior federal management consulting experience
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

An applicant for this position must be a U.S. Citizen and be eligible for a high-level U.S. Government Security Clearance – this means you must be able to pass a rigorous background investigation covering a period of no less than 7 years. Many of our clients maintain a strict policy regarding the prior use of illegal substances (such as recreational or non-prescribed pharmaceutical drugs) and other violations of U.S. law, including illegally obtaining or sharing copyrighted material. Any such incidents may result in an unfavorable adjudication by the government. For these reasons, SPC seeks candidates with a high likelihood of being successful in the clearance process, and existing high-level clearances are valued.
