Position Summary:

We are currently searching for a Senior Global Mobility Specialist to develop and optimize our Mobility programs.  This role will support critical business growth and talent strategies by aligning the right talent across our organization. This key member of our Team will ensure a positive experience for both internal and external talent and will manage the areas of Global Assignments, Immigration, and Relocation, and be knowledgeable in International Tax. This position will report to the HR Director and will interact with various external tax, relocation, and immigration vendors as well as internal business partners. This role provides exposure to US and international immigration law, cross-border tax, and the opportunity to increase cultural awareness while working on immigration cases, global assignments and special projects.

Essential Responsibilities:

Global Mobility:

  • Partner with Manager to develop and implement Global Mobility policies and programs, ensuring compliance, competitiveness and cost effectiveness in line with the business needs
  • Consult with HR business partners and executives on tax, benefits, payroll, relocation, and immigration implications related to assignments
  • Create the assignment cost estimate in partnership with our vendor, the assignee, and internal stakeholders
  • Brief assignees and business leaders on the conditions of the assignment package and provide support on understanding of the terms of the mobility policy and any related benefits
  • Act as a case manager who is the single point of contact for the assignee and family to provide advice in the end-to-end management of their individual assignment
  • Provide advice, guidance and support to the assignee on all matters relating to their tax, immigration and legal requirements in respect to the assignment
  • Partner with third party providers to execute assignments and relocations; this could include suppliers for tax, immigration, destination services, cultural training, and move services
  • Provide status updates on assignments, relocations, and immigration to HR business partners and business leaders
  • Facilitate domestic and international relocations with vendors and suppliers
  • Coordinate 3rd party services for the assignee (immigration, tax, relocation, destination service assistance, etc.)
  • Perform duties with vendor such as lead tax year end process, balance sheet preparation and review and hypothetical tax preparation and review
  • End-to-end assignment management, maintaining regular contact with the assignee to ensure a successful experience for the relocating employee and their family
  • Ensure assignment letters, cost estimates and packages are compliant and cost effective by working with external vendorsWork with external tax vendors and payroll to process annual tax payments
  • Facilitate year-end tax equalization process and payments
  • Stay up to date with current global mobility trends, and industry standards and best practices
  • Participate in special projects as and when required


  • Facilitate immigrant and non-immigrant petitions for foreign national employees outbound from US or other countries, managing the immigration processes together with our immigration vendor as well as US inbound as needed
  • Counsel foreign nationals and international business travelers on all aspects of immigration
  • Coordinate with internal resources (Payroll, Human Resources Business Partners, HRIS, Tax, Finance) to address questions and/or resolve issues related to immigration regulations, alerts, and procedures to support the business
  • Provide foreign nationals and international business travelers with appropriate documentation (employment verification letters, business travel support letters, etc.)
  • Review immigration invoices for approval
  • Ensure organization of records including updating tracking documents and maintaining centralized immigration folders and Public Access Files
  • Utilize a strong working knowledge of immigration policies and procedures, to recommend improvements to work flow and operation objectives


Basic Qualifications:

  • 3 years of global mobility experience
  • Bachelor's degree required

 Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ experience in managing global mobility matters
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels of leadership
  • Strong communication and customer focus skills
  • Detail focused with experience of handling complex technical knowledge
  • Comfortable working within an international environment and across diverse cultures
  • Good organizational, planning and decision making skills
  • Strong communication skills are a necessity
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Able to multi-task and handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment
  • Creative problem solver, but be proactive and able to work autonomously
