Position description

The School of Interdisciplinary Global Studies (SIGS) at the University of South Florida invites applicants for a Visiting Instructor position beginning on August 7, 2017.  The position is for the 2017-2018 academic year, but it can be renewed for up to three years.  Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Political Science, Government, Politics, International Studies or a related field by the start date.  The teaching field is International Relations and Political Theory.  

For candidates who meet the minimum qualifications, preference will be given to individuals who can demonstrate an ability to teach undergraduate courses in Introduction to Political Theory and International Conflict and a graduate seminar in International Relations.

The teaching load is four courses per semester, including one section of per semester of Introduction to Political Theory, one course per year in Conflict in the World, and one course per year in the Graduate Seminar in International Relations Theory. The other courses depend on the successful candidate’s area of specialization.  Salary is $48,000 for the nine-month academic year, with the possibility of $6,000 for teaching during the summer session of 2018.  Application review will begin on May 15, 2017 and continue until the position is filled.
