This position will develop, manage, and maintain Office of Study Abroad technological interfaces. Other duties include: educate and advise students and the ODU community about study abroad opportunities; actively promote and market study abroad opportunities; liaise and collaborate with campus offices and study abroad partners; assess and analyze study abroad program evaluations to enhance students’ learning and program effectiveness.
Master’s degree in international relations or studies, international or higher education, intercultural communication, foreign language, or similar field. Extensive experience using software such as TerraDotta (TD) or similar. Considerable experience with information technology (i.e. website creation and/or editing, social media). Considerable experience advising in a higher education context. Basic marketing experience. Considerable experience abroad either studying, living, volunteering, and/or working abroad. Extensive knowledge of and ability to utilize TerraDotta (TD) or similar software. Strong communication skills (interpersonal, intercultural, oral, written). Ability to manage multiple work assignments simultaneously. Interest in and ability to work with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Considerable experience working abroad. Some experience working in an office of study abroad or an international education organization. Some foreign language ability. Some experience in counseling and/or mentoring university students. Some experience working in an intercultural environment.
