Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)
This is a new post, based in Invest Northern Ireland’s office in Brussels (which is co-located with the Northern Ireland Executive Office). Invest Northern Ireland has a small presence in Brussels but is seeking to expand its operations in the region to create an International Hub. The job holder will lead on the development of this international hub to deliver tangible commercial results for the Northern Ireland region.
The role will have three key areas of responsibility: (1) providing market knowledge and introductions for Northern Ireland exporters; (2) engaging with the institutions of the European Commission and identifying opportunities for Northern Ireland company engagements; and (3) attracting FDI to Northern Ireland from companies in the European region.
The selected candidate will develop a network of contacts, forge relationship at the highest level with government officials, stakeholders and business/industry leaders in order to promote Northern Ireland, secure trade/export wins for Northern Ireland companies, and bring inward investment opportunities to Northern Ireland.

This is a full-time, permanent contract, for 5 working days (36.25 hours net) per week.
The monthly salary for this position is €5948.18, C5(L) level (The British Diplomatic Missions in Belgium salaries are not subject to annual indexation).
Please note that Belgian nationals will be paid their salary gross and are expected to comply with their tax obligations through completion of a tax return to the Belgian authorities. Non-Belgian nationals will receive their salary net, minus the deduction of an equivalent level of Belgian tax retained at source. Further information on this will be given to candidates during the recruitment process.
The successful candidates will be subject to professional background checks and security clearance.
