Position description

This position will support the economic growth of Minnesota companies by providing programs and services that facilitate increased Minnesota exports and increased foreign investments in Minnesota.

Job duties include:

Develop and implement a program plan for an assigned market, industry, and/or trade assistance function to help Minnesota companies effectively respond to international trade opportunities.

Counsel clients on trade related matters and answer requests for technical assistance.

Qualifications

Four (4) years of professional work experience in one or a combination of the following;

  1. Business management primarily involving international trade
  2. International business development, sales, or marketing
  3. Business consulting in international trade

**A Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Business, Economics, or Political Science may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.

Experience with international sales, marketing or business development.

Ability to interpret economic data and assess international market and/or industry trends.

Experience managing program budgets.

Advanced skills in public speaking and written communication.

Knowledge of Minnesota business or industry sectors and professional associations.

A valid passport or the ability to obtain a passport.

Excellent computer skills for work processing and spreadsheet, and the ability to learn office client databases.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Business, Economics, or Political Science.

Knowledge of international economics, trade policy, foreign exchange issues, and business law related to international transactions.

Fluent in another language.
