Join a vibrant campus community whose excellence is reflected in its diversity and student success.  West Chester University of Pennsylvania's Department of Political Science invites applications for a full-time, one year appointment for an Assistant Professor position in the field of International Relations, with a negotiable start date of either January 5 or August 5, 2018. This temporary position is renewable for up to three years. 
 
Teaching responsibilities will include International Relations and Area Studies courses. The successful applicant should also be able to teach introductory courses in Comparative Politics and American Government. Other responsibilities of the position include an active research agenda and appropriate service, including program development, student advising, all in a manner consistent with our department mission, which emphasizes global perspectives. The department is in the process of developing a Global Studies minor. Thus, candidates who can bring an interdisciplinary approach to Global Studies are especially encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

The successful applicant should possess a Ph.D. in Political Science or closely related discipline (ABD considered with evidence of completion by start date) and a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and research.  Finalists must successfully complete an on-site interview, including a teaching demonstration.
