Position description

The Research Assistant will work with Dr Tom Pegram at The School of Public Policy, UCL, on a project regarding global performance assessments of national human rights institutions (NHRIs). This is a part time Research Assistant contract.

The Research Assistant will be expected to undertake research duties in connection with the project as directed by the PI, which include the following, contributing to the validity of qualitative and quantitative analysis methods, searching for literature and produce summaries and preparing datasets and review data. 

Please note this post is an entry level research position.

This post is initially funded until the 31st March 2018.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate must have a Masters degree in international relations, or a related field. A good understanding of and experience with qualitative and quantitative data, attention to detail, experience of organising and planning ones own work, and meeting deadlines is essential. 

An understanding of national human rights institutions and/or the international human rights system would be desirable.
