Summary

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

About the Position:
These two position are in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. These positions are located at the ST-APF-WND299 470 MI HHD AUG MI. These positions particpate in the processing and exploitation of Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT).

Responsibilities


THESE ARE DEVELOPMENTAL POSITIONS, HIRING AT THE GG-09 LEVEL ONLY, WITH A FULL PERFORMANCE LEVEL (FPL) OF GG-12. Employee may be promoted non-competitively to the next grade level upon meeting the following requirements: (1) Satisfactory demonstration of the ability to perform at the developmental/target grade. (2). If there is higher level work at the developmental/target grade level. (3) Assignment of increased responsibilities. (4) Recommendation for promotion by supervisor. (5) Satisfactory completion of all required training. (6) Completion of all DCIPS regulatory requirements for promotions. Consequently, promotion(s) are not guaranteed.

These positions participate in Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) exploitation for analysis in a given area of interest. Participate in intelligence production, to include retrieval and processing data reports using GEOINT data to provide assessments to supported worldwide customers. Prepare graphics, performs analysis, and drafts report. Assist other analysts in the processing and exploitation of all types of Intelligence (GEOINT) data. Assist on formal and informal requests for information (RFI) from a variety of users.

Travel Required

25% or less - You may be expected to travel for this position.

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination.
  • Direct Deposit of Pay is Required.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET Security Clearance based on a single scope background investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) may be required up to 25% of the time.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter..

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GG/GS-07) or its equivalent that demonstrates the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Specialized Experience is defined as demonstrated experience in the research and analysis of Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) to produce intelligence reports and/or assessments.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled.This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this position, you may qualify if your education meets the definition below:

Successfully completed a Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as, International Relations, Foreign Area Studies, Political Science, Geography, Foreign Language, Foreign Affairs, International Law, History, Economics, Demography, Engineering , Law, Sociology, Psychology, Military Science, Cartography, Social or Cultural Anthropology or Physical/ Chemical Science.
