Position description

The Study Abroad Program Specialist will work closely with students at all phases of the study abroad process including outreach, advising, orientation, and credit transfer. The Program Specialist will become a regional expert on a range of study abroad opportunities in Europe. In addition to enrollment management for outbound study abroad students, the Study Abroad Program Specialist will also work with incoming international students participating on exchange. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable about other countries and international travel, including systems of higher education, culture, and health and safety issues. The Program Specialist will also interface with relevant offices such as Registrar, Financial Aid, Bursar, and College-level study abroad liaisons and serve as a back-up advisor in support of team. 



  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of experience in program administration or related field. 
  • Overseas experience (at least one semester living, working and/or studying) along with understanding of international education.
  • Strong office software applications skills.
  • Good verbal/written communication skills as well as ability to interact effectively in a team environment with diverse groups of people.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.


  • Bachelor's degree in International Studies, International relations or other related field.

  • Master's Degree.

  • Education abroad experience.

  • Higher education experience. 

  • Foreign language abilities.
