Position description

We are recruiting for a Junior Research Analyst to work in our busy Intelligence & Analysis practice, in support of the Asia Pacific desk. The role will have an emphasis on East and Southeast Asia in particular, but the Junior Research Analyst will also be required to assist on other regions and varying project work as part of a tight and collaborative team.

The Intelligence & Analysis Junior Research Analyst (JRA) programme is for talented people seeking paid work experience in security and political risk research and analysis. Junior Research Analysts work in direct support of a team of intelligence analysts, and receive mentoring, guidance and practical hands-on experience. Work includes open-source data collection, media monitoring, and writing threat and risk assessments.

JRA programme roles are temporary positions for periods of around three to six months, which may be extended depending upon performance and business requirements. JRAs are eligible to apply for full-time permanent roles in the company as they become available.

We seek exceptional, rounded and team-oriented professionals with a flair for diligent research and analysis, and a passion for international security and geopolitical affairs. The role of a JRA demands the highest standards of written English, objectivity and personal integrity.

We are particularly interested in people with a background in security studies, political science, international relations, regional politics, modern history, and languages.
