The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a renowned international affairs institution with six global centers in Washington, D.C, Moscow, Brussels, Beijing, Beirut and New Delhi, is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant for Carnegie's President, Ambassador William J. Burns.
The Executive Assistant will be based in Carnegie's Washington, DC Executive Office and responsible for providing high level administrative support by managing Ambassador Burns' schedule, travel, finances, correspondence, external Board activities, and the operations of the Executive Office. The Executive Assistant will also work closely with the Chief of Staff and the Chief Operating Officer, along with administrative staff of other members of Carnegie's executive team.
The position requires 10+ years of experience in a similar role as an executive assistant for a C-Suite or senior government executive, preferably with an internationally orientated institution. The ideal candidate needs to be highly organized, discrete, independent, disciplined, entrepreneurial, a good communicator and writer, a superb team player, and possess a proven ability to multi-task and handle a heavy workload with equanimity. Fluency in the suite of Microsoft Office programs is critical.
