The Political Science Department invites applications for multiple tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in International Relations and/or Comparative Politics beginning August 2018. USNA is a service academy and top tier liberal arts college with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in faculty teaching and research. The successful candidate should have conducted innovative research in security studies, international political economy, or politics of developing countries with regional expertise on Russia and Eurasia, South Asia, or Southeast Asia. Candidates should expect to contribute to teaching introductory and intermediate courses in political science, as well as upper-level electives in their field of concentration. Candidates should have a robust research agenda and strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. Teaching load is typically three sections per semester with small section sizes (18-22 students) and 2-4 preps per year. Candidates should also have a strong commitment to student advising and mentoring, and to service to the institution.
