Start date: March 2017 (preferably)

The American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU) speaks for American companies committed to Europe on trade, investment and competitiveness issues. It aims to ensure a growth-orientated business and investment climate in Europe.

AmCham EU is looking for a highly-motivated and innovative individual, with proven experience in business development, to join its dynamic and professional team. He/she will work closely with the senior management team and be responsible for developing and implementing the organisation’s member recruitment and retention strategies as well as overseeing the membership budget. This person must be a hard-working and creative researcher and strategic thinker with a proven record of success in meeting both revenue targets as well as customer expectations.

Main responsibilities:

  • Research, develop and organise new business development/membership leads;
  • Plan, execute and follow-up - meetings with potential members;
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with members;
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of members database;
  • Plan, collaborate on and produce member communications and events;
  • Manage membership budget – forecast/track/set and meet targets;
  • Create and lead on other revenue-making projects including sponsorship development.


  • Outstanding customer service;
  • Ability to create strong networks and to liaise with senior stakeholders;
  • Superior presentation and sales skills;
  • Broad knowledge of EU policy and understanding of impact on membership;
  • Title and seniority will depend on experience of successful candidate.
  • Fluent English essential; a second European language is an advantage
