Position description

Is your Global Studies or International Development coursework fueling your passion for helping with issues of global poverty?  Do you want your education to catapult you into non-profit work that gives you meaning and does good in the world?  Do you want an incredible learning experience that will expose you to non-profit work, culture, relevant projects and experts in their field?  The World Vision Internship program is looking for interns with all of the above: passion, ambition, and a desire to put their skills into practice in their area of interest. 

In return, we will give you the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of how a large non-profit functions.  You will receive support and mentorship from World Vision management and team leaders. You will have the opportunity for networking and informational interviews with staff at all levels, which can possibly help you in determining future career paths.  You will be part of a dynamic departmental team, attend appropriate departmental meetings, and other activities that will be enhancing our team capacity to better serve children worldwide!

*Note - interns will not have the opportunity to travel internationally.

Qualifications

Required Skills

The Program Effectiveness and Integration teams are looking for interns who have:

  • Taken relevant courses in International Relations, International Development, International Education, International Economics or Program Analysis
  • An understanding or interest in monitoring and program evaluation
  • Data Analysis skills and exposure to statistical programs
  • An interest in conducting research and writing literature reviews related to humanitarian issues

Required Experience

  • Completion of college degree
  • Available 20-29 hours a week for a minimum of 10 weeks
  • Eligible to work in the United States (US citizen/resident or F1-student visa)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent writing and research skills
  • Attention to detail and strong analysis skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Language skills a plus
