Engility is seeking a Communications/Public Relations Specialist to develop, plan, and conduct public relations and public affairs programs, both domestic and/or global, to improve and support customer business objectives with the media, public, industry, and other external stakeholders. This position will support a multidisciplinary team within the Defense Health Agency Research & Development Directorate whose research mission focuses on medical and health services research to improve quality and continuity of care for service members, veterans and their beneficiaries.
In support of the DHA Research and Development Directorate and guidance from a Functional Area Task Lead, develops communications, international relations and marketing materials by writing and editing press releases, media materials, speeches, scripts, articles and business presentations. Influences public opinion, corporate ranking, and policy decisions through strategic communications activities. Corrects inaccuracies, anticipates and manages crisis communications, and develops relationship with media and advocacy organizations. Plans, creates and disseminates information using appropriate social media to drive business strategy for products. Identifies, secures and prepares key opinion leaders and internal spokespeople to provide perspective and insight to the media. Ensures all customer compliance and ethics standards are met. May participate and support advertising campaigns, and/or edit material for organization publications.
Responsibilities may also include the following:
- Consult and provide recommendations for Marketing, Communications and Distribution Strategy
- Work with the public affairs team and leadership to execute marketing tactics aimed at building awareness and use of its products and provide product distribution analysis support to afford the product owners insight into product distribution trends for awareness and in support of decision-making.
- Provide consultative activities which 1) determine target audiences, 2) outline social marketing goals and objectives, 3) determine marketing mix (product, price, place and promotion), 4) plan for monitoring and evaluation and 5) implement and manage the marketing and communications for specific Research and Development products.
