Position description

The School of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a Lecturer of Political Science (pending budgetary approval). This position is scheduled to begin August 1, 2018. Candidates will teach multiple sections of American Government and one or more of the following: International Relations, Constitutional Law, Civil Liberties, or American Political Thought.

Essential Duties

Job duties include teaching upper-division and lower-division Political Science courses, as well as participating in departmental committees. Candidates will be expected to have a commitment to excellence in teaching, to professional development, and to serving students in a collegiate setting. In addition, the candidate will be expected to work cooperatively with others and be willing to teach both day and evening classes at the Brunswick campus, Camden Center, or online as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications and Training

• Earned Masters degree in Political Science from a regionally-accredited institution 
• Ability to teach utilizing a variety of course delivery structures (on-site, hybrid, on-line)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong computer and technology skills

Preferred Qualifications and Training

• Earned Doctorate in Political Science from a regionally-accredited institution
• At least one year of collegiate teaching experience
