Academic liaising and collaboration with University faculty members and staff in the various departments, schools and colleges especially related to international programming and affairs. Outreach related to international cooperation and collaboration in schools, institutes, and departments in neighboring colleges and universities; and to government agencies and international organizations. International program planning and development (focused on diplomacy and foreign affairs). Organizing, collaborating, and liaising with University personnel and governmental organizations. Fundraising for Bunche Center activities. Lead in development of scholarship, grant development, and academic programming for the Bunche Center. Supervising Bunche Center staff.
Administrative direction of all Ralph Bunche Center personnel and programs, and personal involvement, as required by university policy and procedures.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Internal contacts are with a wide variety of administrators, faculty, staff and students. External contacts include national and international associations and institutions involved with study abroad, international resident directors, embassies, U.S. Department of State, U.S. Congressional interest groups, and international educators, parents and families.
Earned doctorate, or extensive experience (at least 10 years) in international affairs, plus a post-graduate degree. At least five years of relevant academic experience and/or five years of relevant international and successful management or professional experience. This includes at least 5 years’ experience in international affairs; experience as an ambassador, or similarly ranked position; minimum of five years of professional international/foreign experience in program management and grant writing; and proven track record in academic and/or corporate fundraising. Preference will be given to individuals with management experience in a U.S. government agency.
