About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the HQ, U.S. ARMY MATERIEL COMMAND, DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF, G-2, SECURITY DIVISION, REDSTONE ARSENAL, AL. Incumbent manages and provides Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) support, and ensures through centralized accountability and monitoring uniform application of SCI policies throughout the Command.

For the GG-12 Level: experience at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11) include implementing Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security policies and procedures, and operating Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs).
For the GG-13 Level: experience at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12) is working with and protecting classified and sensitive documents, material, and/or facilities from national security threats in relation to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series

To substitute education for the required experience for the GG-11 grade level, applicant must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related to the following courses: National Security Studies, Political Science, International Relations/Foreign Affairs, Geography, Industrial Security Administration, Industrial Management, Systems Management/Operations Research, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Engineering (Job Specific), Security Administration, History, Electronic Technology (Job Specific) and Law.
Only degrees from accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for experience.
