Position description

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a unique global network of policy research centers in Russia, China, Europe, the Middle East, India, and the United States, is seeking an Editorial Content Director to join its Washington, DC-based communications team. 

The Editorial Content Director reports to the Vice President for Communications and Strategy and manages the publications and graphic design team, which is responsible for all English-language content produced by Carnegie worldwide.

Responsibilities will include working with scholars and the digital and graphics team to write, edit and create short-form blog and opinion posts by Carnegie scholars, that incorporate photos, video and infographics. The position will also be responsible for writing, in coordination with the Management Group, and overseeing the editing and review process of the Carnegie Annual Report.

The position requires a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a related field and strong writing and editing abilities, management experience, digital content creation or digital journalism experience and the ability to condense complex policy issues into shorter form content. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both writing and editing foreign policy content and be able to thrive in a team environment.
