The Center for Korean Legal Studies at Columbia Law School seeks applications for the full-time position of Staff Associate to conduct research in Korean international and domestic legal issues as well as assist in the drafting of research proposals and memoranda, the academic portion of annual conferences, and the teaching of related courses. The incumbent's primary task would be to collaborate as part of the Center's team on ongoing joint research projects with Korean government institutions.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Extensive knowledge of the Korean Peninsula and related legal issues, in particular concerning Korean maritime disputes, inter-Korean relations and Korean domestic affairs;
Outstanding research and writing skills;
Demonstrated organizational skills and strong attention to detail; and
Strong Korean language skills are an asset.
Minimum Degree Required:
JD, LLM, or Master's degree in international relations, East Asian studies or a related subject.
