Morehead State University, recognized as one of the top public universities in the South by U.S. News & World Report, is accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position as Visiting Assistant Professor.

The successful candidate will be required to teach sections of our introduction to political theory course as well as several upper division courses congruent with expertise. The program is particularly interested in candidates whose research specialization is in ancient and/or medieval political thought, and who are willing to develop a course on ethics in public administration. While teaching responsibilities will be primarily in political theory, candidates with a second field in international relations or American politics is preferred. Applicants should have a strong teaching record and enthusiasm to support out of the classroom program initiatives. The teaching load is four courses/ semester and the position is renewable subject to performance/ budget considerations.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Political Science is required (advanced ABDs will be considered). The potential to develop and sustain an academic research program resulting in peer-reviewed publication record is also required.

Desired Qualifications: Teaching experience in a higher education environment is preferred.
