Position description

The Department of Government at William & Mary invites applications for a one year, non-tenure-track visiting position that will begin August 10, 2018. We seek an individual with expertise in American politics and political behavior. The successful applicant will be expected to be an effective teacher and will have a 3-3 teaching load (2 preps per semester). Courses will consist of introductory research methods, intermediate-level polling and survey research, intermediate-level political behavior, and a senior seminar of the candidate’s choosing. We are especially interested in candidates who can draw on their expertise or examples in racial or ethnic politics, or the politics of inclusion as they teach these subjects.

Required Qualifications

ABD status is required. Applicants must be able to teach intermediate courses on polling and survey research, political behavior, and introductory research methods.

Preferred Qualifications

A Ph.D. is preferred at the time appointment begins (August 10, 2018).
