Does the challenge of running the world’s largest news team dedicated to slavery and trafficking excite you? If so read on. We are seeking a talented, high-energy, experienced editor with excellent news judgment, strong writing skills, and experience in international journalism to lead a new global team of nine journalist covering trafficking and modern-day slavery. You will be UK-based and head a team of seven correspondents based in India, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Thailand, Mexico and Brazil as well a one sub-editor. You will work with the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s award-winning global news team to produce unique stories that have impact and raise awareness on this $150 billion crime and represent the Foundation at events highlighting the work being done to combat trafficking and slavery.
Your focus will be to run a file that produces exclusive and unique long and short form stories and investigations on trafficking and slavery. You will work with a team of journalists and freelancers around the world to find stories of real lives to highlight issues of injustice and report on moves to address these problems, both by governments and the corporate sector. You will stay ahead of the curve on legal and policy changes and build a network with some of the most influential voices in this field.
