Position description

ENC is a fast-growing think tank organisation that provides space for young talented scholars to get a first-hand experience of how it is to work in a think tank, to interact with policy-makers, academics and civil society activists in a challenging and demanding working environment in the policy-making centre of the European Union, Brussels.

We are looking for a student enrolled in a master’s programme related to political science/international relations/security studies with an interest on EU relations with the ENP countries to work with us for a 5-6 month period as funding and research assistant.

The ideal candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to adapt to new issues, proactive attitude, self-motivation and positive attitude towards new challenges and working as a team player in an international working environment.

The funding & research assistant will be

  • conducting background research on topics related to Eastern Partnership (security, democratisation, human rights, rule of law, education) but also for topics focusing on Middle East and North Africa following the instructions of her supervisor;
  • drafting reports and taking notes during events;
  • representing ENC in events and conferences;
  • assisting on fundraising (grants and tenders);
  • assisting in the organisation of events with ENC’s team;
  • administrative tasks (databases, wordpress etc.)
