Saint Josephs University’s Department of Political Science has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to staff a variety of courses each semester.
Presently, we have a specific need for faculty to teach within the field of International Relations/Global Politics and Comparative Politics.
Part-time adjunct faculty may instruct 1 or 2 courses each semester on an “as needed” basis. Courses available for adjunct staffing are offered during the day and may include:
1. Intro to Global Politics
2. Intro to Comparative Politics
3. Politics of MENA
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching of a specified course/language (face-to-face, hybrid or online course(s))
Preparation of materials
Providing support and guidance to students
Keeping posted office hours (1 hr per course)
Giving prompt, regular feedback to students about their academic performance
Reporting mid-semester and final grades electronically
Master’s Degree in Political Science, International Relations, or a closely related, equivalent field.
Previous teaching experience.
ABD or PhD in Political Science, International Relations, or closely related, equivalent field.
Previous University-level teaching experience.
Willingness to be flexible in class scheduling.
