Position description

This position is responsible for the overall administration and support of the International Development Program. The Program Coordinator serves as a contact point for all prospective/current students in the International Development Program. The incumbent assists Graduate Admissions with several recruiting events each year and outreach efforts to hit program goals. This position maintains daily office operations and a calendar of deadlines and events for the Director and faculty. The Coordinator helps develop and update course schedules and advising worksheets for the program. The incumbent is responsible for planning and coordinating the International Development Program’s annual and periodic events including symposia, community-building events, and Program guest speakers.

Work Environment

  • This is temporary position, not to exceed one year from the date of hire
  • This position is responsible for the supervision of the Federal Work Study student assigned to the Program
  • The candidate should be able to perform basic office functions, including the ability to lift items up to 15 pounds

  • The ideal candidate will be familiar with an academic setting, have an interest in and experience in the field of international relations/development, maintain flexibility and have the ability to work as a team player

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, Mailchimp, and Internet research techniques. Accurate, fast typing skills 

  • Intercultural sensitivity and competence dealing with diverse populations.

  • Strong communication/writing skills

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience in a higher educational setting

  • Marketing experience and/or experience using social media platforms in a professional capacity

  • Familiarity with CommonSpot, InDesign and/or Photoshop for web design and posting
