The Counter Extremism Project (CEP) is a not-for-profit, non-partisan, international policy organization formed to combat the growing threat from extremist ideology. We are seeking a dedicated research analyst with outstanding writing skills, and a strong foundational knowledge of extremist groups/entities and related counter-extremism and counterterrorism policy.
A CEP research analyst is responsible for developing comprehensive research reports on extremist groups, individuals, and entities as well as drafting blog posts and detailed policy papers for a broad audience. The research analyst will work independently or with a four- to six-person team on a regular basis to produce high-quality materials to be reviewed by members of CEP’s executive leadership and/or published online for consumption by the general public, the media, and/or policymakers. Outstanding, clear, and concise writing skills are a must.
The research analyst’s work will contribute to CEP’s extensive online research database and help to counter the extremist narrative by encouraging governments and members of the private sector to take action using concrete and compelling facts and figures. His or her work will serve as the foundation for advocating for critical public sector- and private sector-based policies to combat extremists and their ideology.
A successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for advocacy and combatting extremism at the grassroots and policy levels. He or she will also have the capacity to translate ideas into action.
