THE MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM
Under the leadership of former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, a long-standing champion for the rights of people with mental illnesses, the Carter Center's Mental Health Program works to promote awareness about mental health issues, inform public policy, achieve equity for mental health care comparable to other health care, and reduce stigma and discrimination against those with mental illnesses.
The Associate Director reports to the Director of the Mental Health Program. S/he serves as the Program Director’s deputy for Liberia and global mental health program management, including project management functions and relationships with external stakeholders. The incumbent’s responsibilities may include conducting applied research, managing program publications, facilitating expert meetings, and overseeing special global mental health projects outside of Liberia.
FORMAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Bachelor's degree in field related to specific program as indicated and six years program related experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
