Position description

The Washington Bureau is looking for a news assistant to answer phones, keep the daily Washington schedule, work with the social media team to promote Washington stories, fact-check copy on deadline, help reporters with logistics, research and legwork, and occasionally write stories.

This guild job is often more interesting than it sounds. You’ll work with great reporters and absorb a lot. You should be flexible, cheerful, adaptive, quick-thinking, level-headed in stressful situations and interested in the news.
