Position description

Transparentem is seeking an Associate Analyst to join our investigative team.

Transparentem is a non-profit organization whose mission is to spur transparency and accelerate ethical behavior in important global industries. We work to achieve that mission by identifying and investigating endemic human and environmental abuses upstream in manufacturing supply chains.

The Associate Analyst will support the Investigative Team, which leads Transparentem’s investigations and works to develop detailed, fact-based reports tracing human trafficking, child labor, slave labor, worker abuses, and environmental degradation throughout manufacturing supply chains.

The Associate Analyst will support our Analysts, Senior Analysts, and Investigations Manager by:

  • Conducting background, supply-chain, and other research on human-rights violations and environmental abuses, with a focus on Asia;
  • Assisting in writing and editing draft reports and other documents;
  • Rigorously fact-checking draft reports and other documents;
  • Drafting and circulating team updates;
  • Assisting in project management; and
  • Completing other tasks in support of the Investigative Team.

The Associate Analyst will report to the Deputy Vice President of Investigations and work closely with the Investigations Manager.

This is a challenging role that requires total discretion and attention to detail, as well as strong research, writing, editing, and organizational skills. We are looking for individuals with:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an investigative, research, or analytical role;
  • Strong research experience required; experience researching labor-rights violations or environmental abuses preferred;
  • Project-management experience;
  • Excellent writing and editing skills;
  • Extraordinary attention to detail;
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to work autonomously;
  • A strong sense of mission; and
  • Unimpeachable integrity.

US work authorization and fluency in English are required; proficiency in one or more additional languages is preferred.
