The Role


We are looking for a Senior Grant Manager for the Middle East and North Africa region to work in Oxfam GBs Programme Oversight Team.


This is a fantastic opportunity to build and coordinate a team focused on risk management, risk mitigation and contract management oversight support and accountability, in collaboration with Oxfam countries, regions and Partner Affiliates.


You will support the Programme Director, the Head of the Programme Portfolio Oversight and Development Team and Manager of the Programme Oversight Team to deliver high quality support and oversight across Oxfam GB’s international programme portfolio. You will also lead a small team of Grant Managers who provide programme oversight and support to projects and programmes where Oxfam GB holds the contract.


The role requires the post-holder to balance internal relations, processes and accountability with external accountability and relations with donors, countries and regions, with strong focus on the empowerment of countries, regions and programme delivery units.


You will be based in the UK and will have the right to live and work in the UK. However, for the right candidate, flexibility can be considered to be based from Iraq, Jordan or Lebanon, as long as you have all the necessary permissions to live and work in these locations.


What we are looking for


You will bring the following to the role


  • Senior country and/or regional programme and contract management background, with a proven track record of working with key donors (i.e. DFID, EU, SIDA, ECHO and OFDA/USAID on their contracts, rules and regulations (experience managing or supporting complex and multi-country projects and programmes, with multiple stakeholders is desirable)
  • Strong project management skills and experience, with proven track record particularly with regards to programme quality, financial management, donor requirements and risk management;
  • Excellent team leadership, coaching and people management skills, especially with diverse and geographically dispersed teams, in line with Oxfam’s Leadership Competency Framework
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Working knowledge of Arabic will put you at a distinct competitive advantage. Working knowledge of other languages such as Spanish or French will also be valuable.
