SDSN Association was set up in March 2014 as an independent 501 3 (c) organization to support the SDSN. The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has been operating since 2012 under the auspices of the Secretary-General of the United Nations. The SDSN mobilizes research, academia, the private sector and civil society to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and implement the Paris Climate Agreement. The SDSN secretariat has offices in New York and Paris hosted by SDSN Association and SDSN Association Paris, respectively. SDSN Association also hosts the SDG Academy and other programs related to the SDGs.
SDSN Association is a relatively young and rapidly growing non-profit, with a reputation for excellence in the field of sustainable development. The Chief Financial Officer will be part of the leadership team of SDSN Association in New York to help it through an exciting growth phase, and help design and implement a sound institutional governance structure to enable it to continue its growth path. The Chief Financial Officer will also serve as Secretary to the Board of SDSN Association.
SDSN’s Thematic Research Network on Data and Statistics (TReNDS) convenes experts to catalyze learning on and investment in the data revolution for development (www.sdsntrends.org). An explosion in available resources and the rapid evolution of technologies are transforming how governments, citizens, and companies use data, particularly to support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our experts from across the global scientific, development, public, and private sector data communities analyze and advise on past, current, and emerging approaches to ensure that the benefits of the data revolution are extended to those most in need. TReNDS’ mission includes generating and curating ideas on how to strengthen local, national, and global statistical systems and governance; incubating technical coalitions to establish practice standards for new data approaches; analyzing policies, conditions, and investments that enable data-sharing success to generate more frequent and disaggregated data; and conducting policy-relevant research on data financing to increase investment in comprehensive statistical systems.
