Idealism, vision and action are the characteristics that young people bring into every community. The Global Youth Village (GYV) started in 1979, with a need and a dream. A group of parents dreamed of a camp bringing young people together from around the world. Forty years later, 80 teens from more than 15 countries continue to gather each summer for dynamic workshops teaching leadership, tolerance and dialogue, as well time for sports, arts and summer fun. Critical issues are addressed with inspiring role models and young global leaders. Cultural programming and cooperative living help participants learn to respect differences and discover similarities that transcend cultural, religious, political, and language barriers. 2019 highlights include youth delegations from Egypt, Mexico, Turkey and UK.
