Position description

We know young people have the power to solve the challenges we face in our world, but they are being sidelined. We are the agency that works with young people so they can lead in solving those challenges. Whether that means supporting communities to end child marriage or prevent HIV, we work with young people to change their lives and the lives of people in their communities. Our programmes are genuinely life-changing, but can’t do any of this without talented, creative individuals at every level of our organisation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Restless Development's UK Hub has played a lead role in the organisation's global advocacy and influencing efforts to date - ensuring that young people are influencing global institutions and mechanism in the run up to and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. The team has overseen a wide range of work; from supporting youth delegates and advocates to the UN; to coordinating the global Youth Power Campaign; to working with major institutions such as the Danish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, to support the Peak Youth Generation to lead development.

This is also an exciting time for our global influencing work. With just 11 years left to achieve the Global Goals, Restless Development is leading a consortium to create a step change in the International Development sector, building a ‘development alternative’ which will hand over power to young people and communities to lead solutions to the problems they face.

'The Senior Advocacy and Influence Manager will play a crucial role leading a team working on our policy and advocacy work, working with other hubs and partners to shape our global advocacy work as well as play an important role in the leadership of the UK Hub.
