Position description

This Global Security Manager will assist client with the day to day travel risk management program and provide support to include but limited to monitoring client's employees via traveltracker, providing response to client's employees during escalations and developing tailored risk assessments when required. 

This role reports to the Security Director, Operations, Americas. Embedded with the client Travel Risk Manager will assist client with the day to day travel risk management program and provide support to include but not limited to monitoring client's employees via TravelTracker, providing response to client's employees during escalations and developing tailored risk assessments when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the travel risk management program 
  • Review day to day use of International SOS service offerings and enable maximum utilization
  • Monitor client's employees via TravelTracker and ensure proper level of support is provided to client's travelers 
  • Work with client's key team members to assure that proper support is provided quickly and efficiently
  • Be well-versed with procedures that assure that travelers are prepared, educated, informed and supported before, during and after travel should any security or health related issue arise
  • Provide response to incidents affecting client's travelers and oversee emergency response plan alongside client designated point of contact. This includes provision of timely contextual information during an incident and advice on specific implications for client and appropriate escalation
  • Communication with/reporting to client's key contacts and strategic partners 
  • Appropriate level of communications to reach all affected travelers
  • Support Security Team with day to day travel risk management matters
  • Provide tailored travel risk assessments as requested
  • Support on internal escalation planning and preparation initiatives

Qualifications

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Interest in international affairs and the global security environment
  • Knowledge of the political and security issues in the region 
  • Ability to explain complex situations to a non-expert 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and other applications  
  • Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with colleagues from different cultures and ethnic backgrounds

Required Work Experience 

  • Experience in travel or security related field: military, government, NGO, journalism
  • Customer service/client facing experience 
  • Experience operating in an international context (assignments, exchanges or experience working within a multinational company)
  • Logistics planning experience
  • Experience in writing to senior management and business decision-makers 
  • Experience in crisis management and crisis response

Required Qualifications 

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent (degree in politics, international relations or related subject is desired)

Required Languages

  • Excellent written and spoken English 
  • Regional or other languages an advantage (Spanish or Portuguese preferred)

Travel / Rotation Requirements 

  • Some degree of travel will be required
