APCO Worldwide, a global strategic communication firm, is seeking a Learning and Development Coordinator to join APCO’s Global Learning and Development (L&D) team in the Washington, D.C., office.

The Learning and Development Coordinator is an integral part of APCO's Global Learning and Development (L&D) team. We strive to empower APCO’s employees to achieve their best work by delivering high quality learning experiences that challenge convention.

The L&D team adopts the core concepts of the lean start-up model and applies them to our learning initiatives for the company. We are looking for a ‘creative doer’ that is adaptable, and able to collaborate with a wide array of staff.

We’ll be relying on you to help us measure usability and ease of use when introducing new platforms or tools, and you’ll help us identify ways to increase community engagement around our learning experiences once they launch.

 Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the global Director to manage high profile learning programs like our Key Client Leader training program and Emerging Leaders Institutes
  • Identify vendors, speakers, and external trainers for our conferences and events, as well as manage relationships with vendors
  • Assist with the creation of a level by level curriculum for APCO employees, and support the overall communications of the new curriculum to our global network
  • Deliver training, L&D orientation sessions, and other presentations about our work to a global audience
  • Help to roll out our new partnership with Mirren globally to ensure high quality business development training is provided to APCO employees
  • Create original creative content for, and provide oversight over our digital learning platform
  • Build stronger partnerships with our employees by harnessing the value of their intellect and opinions
  • Work closely with our partners in leadership around the global network to provide assistance and/or guidance on organizational development challenges
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be passionately curious, entrepreneurial, creative, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and attentive to detail. In addition, please see the following qualifications for this role.

  • At least 1-3 years successful experience in training and development, organizational development or related field
  • Confidence in using technology or digital platforms to solve problems is a must, particularly PowerPoint
  • Experience administering a learning management system (LMS) preferred
  • Applicants are expected to have excellent written and oral communication skills, and experience successfully balancing multiple tasks
  • Passion for learning, increasing employee capability and achieving business results through people development
  • Strong strategic and systems thinking - able to help others make connections and see the big picture
  • College degree in business or learning related field or the equivalent experience in progressively challenging learning and development positions
