The School of Politics, Philosophy, International Relations and Environment wishes to appoint a talented and resourceful academic to the full-time indefinite post of Lectureship in International Relations. It is expected that you will commence in post in September 2019. The successful applicant will have a PhD in International Relations or Politics, an excellent research profile relative to her or his career stage, and abilities to convene and teach undergraduate modules in their respective areas of competence. The position is designed to contribute to SPIRE's exciting new joint programme with Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), International Governance and Public Policy. Excellent candidates from any areas of specialisation in International Relations will be considered, but those with research interests and teaching experience in the fields of Foreign Policy Analysis, and/or Diplomatic Studies with a geographic focus on either China or East Asia or UK-Asia relations are preferred. In addition, the ability to teach a module in Foreign Policy and Diplomatic Studies would be an asset. The successful candidate will likely assume the administrative responsibility of Programme Director for the joint programme within one or two years of appointment. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching and supervision at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, to discharge any administrative duties as required by the Head of School, as well as to conduct research in the field of International Relations.
