Position description

World Politics Review, an online source of news and analysis on global affairs, is seeking an associate editor with deep knowledge of international affairs and geopolitics, and top-notch editorial skills. The associate editor will oversee all aspects of WPR’s award-winning in-depth section. The full archive of in-depth articles, which are published weekly, is available here: https://www.worldpoliticsreview.com/in-depth

Working with our editor-in-chief and other members of our editorial team, the editor will conceive and commission story ideas, find contributors, and guide the in-depth articles to publication. In addition to the editing responsibilities, the editor will write a shorter article each week for the site and contribute to WPR’s weekly podcast. There will also be opportunities to work on WPR’s newsletters.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a passion for international affairs, display “perfect pitch” as an experienced editor and writer, and be very comfortable with all the tools of digital publishing. Applicants must be based in New York City or be willing to relocate or commute daily. Our Brooklyn office is small, collegial and collaborative.

World Politics Review is an equal opportunity employer. Our commitment to a diverse and inclusive work environment is reflected in our recruitment, hiring, promotions and other workforce processes and policies.
