Department overview:

Nomura’s Washington DC office is seeking an analyst to assist Nomura’s federal advocacy team. The analyst will support Nomura’s legislative and regulatory efforts relating to the financial services sector.


Role description:

  • Monitor and analyze legislative, regulatory, and political developments impacting the financial services industry.
  • Summarize congressional committee hearings, floor actions, regulatory proposals, and trade association meetings.
  • Draft weekly legislative and regulatory updates, presentations, and memos.
  • Assist with arranging, coordinating, and preparing for meetings with stakeholders as well as other administrative tasks.


Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

  • Bachelor’s degree. (Finance, Economics or public policy concentration preferred)
  • Understanding of legislative and regulatory processes.
  • Excellent writing, communication, research, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.


The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and editing skills, including the ability to convey complex policy issues in clear and concise manner.
