Position description

ABOUT SAYARI LABS: Sayari is an emerging global leader of complex public records data, supporting investigations for a wide array of government, financial sector, and multinational clients in over a dozen countries on five continents. From export control enforcement to brand protection, and from free trade zones to war zones, Sayari powers cross-border and cross-lingual insight into customers, counterparties, and competitors.

ABOUT THE POSITION: We're looking for Middle East analysts with Persian Farsi and/or Arabic language skills and open-source research experience to join our team of regional and subject-matter experts, tackling complex investigations of illicit networks around the world.

You will work on both independent and collaborative projects and participate actively in briefings to clients and senior government officials. This is a fast-paced environment, where we often work to complete projects under tight deadlines; in addition to your hard skills, we will rely on your energy, initiative, and resourcefulness. You will have daily opportunities to utilize not only your foreign language and regional expertise but also Sayari's public records datasets and proprietary technological platforms.

This is an opportunity to learn and apply advanced analytic tools and methodologies to pressing global challenges, from brand protection to counterproliferation to sanctions enforcement. We are a 35 person start-up, and every team member is essential. We expect you to contribute substantively, and we will train and equip you for the task.

Qualifications

We are accepting applications from candidates with an undergraduate degree in a relevant field and 2+ years of analytic experience.

This position requires native or professional fluency in Farsi and/or Arabic; additional proficiency in other critical languages is welcomed.

Beyond these qualifications, we would welcome:

  • Master's degree.
  • Strong academic record and GPA, with exceptional writing and speaking skills.
  • Open source research and investigative experience, particularly involving public records.
  • Demonstrated interest in examining illicit networks.
  • Familiarity with Iran and other MENA regional, commercial, and financial sectors.
  • Experience with, or natural aptitude for, using a range of technological platforms.
  • Genuine intellectual ambition; strong work ethic; ability to multitask; willingness to collaborate.

We believe diversity and inclusion mean our team members should reflect the diversity of the United States. No employee or applicant will face discrimination or harassment based on: race, color, ethnicity, religion, age, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability status, veteran status, genetics, or political affiliation. We strongly encourage applicants of all backgrounds to apply.

Application instructions

The application package should contain a cover letter, resume, and 2-3 page analytical writing sample. We will only consider complete applications. Please direct all applications and inquiries to [email protected], including the position name in the subject of your email.
