Position description

Global Sanctions Compliance, Governance Section. Responsible for complex investigations and due diligence reviews of bank clients and prospects to assess sanctions risk, as well as sanctions regulatory change management, sanctions regulatory reporting, and training and outreach.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Complex investigations and due diligence reviews of bank clients and prospects to assess sanctions risk
  • Monitoring developments in the regulatory environment and in foreign affairs for potential impact on the bank
  • Project management support
  • Drafting training and outreach content



  • Candidates must be students currently enrolled in a college/university (Minimum Requirement)
  • Candidate should have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Seeking the following Majors: Open to all majors
  • Seeking Undergrad or Masters level students : Open to a both
  • Preferred candidates should have work or academic experience with the following: International Relations, Foreign Affairs, Government, Foreign Languages (eg Russian, Ukrainian, Persian, Arabic), International Finance, International Business, International Law
  • Other:
    • Performing OFAC/sanctions due diligence, analysis, and investigations
    • Performing research using open source and proprietary tools, including regular research using foreign-language sources
    • Monitoring developments in sanctions compliance regulations as well as international affairs
    • Drafting analysis of sanctions compliance issues and providing recommendations on how to address sanctions compliance concerns
    • Participating in discussions with and providing guidance to SVB Relationship Teams and clients on sanctions compliance obligations
    • Drafting program, policy, and procedure documents
    • Assisting with sanctions compliance project management tasks, including tracking and completion of deliverables
