Position description

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a unique global network of policy research centers in Russia, China, Europe, the Middle East, and the United States, is seeking an editorial assistant to join its communications team in Washington, DC. The editorial assistant will support the editorial content director and the publication teams globally to ensure efficient content production and open communications.

The primary responsibility of the editorial assistant will be assisting in the production of digital short form content across a wide variety of formats and foreign policy subjects under the direction and supervision of the editorial content director. Short form content takes complex ideas from publications written for academic or expert audiences and draws out interesting and insightful perspectives for general audiences and the media. Additionally, this position will work on newsletter products under the supervision of the public affairs director and support the publications team in editing and proofreading other forms of publications, such as working papers and research reports as needed.

The ideal candidate will be an exceptional writer and have at least 1-2 years of work experience and a strong interest in writing for digital audiences and international affairs. Experience with graphic design, video production and digital storytelling is a plus. Knowledge of and experience with the Chicago Manual of Style is preferred but not required. Experience working with strict deadlines and budgets; familiarity with InDesign and website CMS preferred.

Located in Dupont Circle, we offer an outstanding work environment and generous benefits. Please apply via the Carnegie Endowment website. https://carnegieendowment.applicantpro.com/jobs/1183739.html
