Position: Executive Secretary/Personal Assistant to the Executive Director
Duration: One-year contract with possibility of extension
Starting: As soon as possible
Remuneration: According to EuroMed Rights’ salary scale, based on years of experience
Pre-requisite: Valid EU working permit

EuroMed Rights is looking for a dynamic, dedicated and experienced Executive Secretary/Personal Assistant to the Executive Director. His/her role will consist in supporting the Executive Director in the daily management of the organisation. The daily workplace is EuroMed Right’s main office in central Copenhagen. A limited amount of travel days is expected (10-20 days a year).

Tasks and assignments

The Executive Secretary/Personal Assistant will work under the supervision of and according to priorities set by the Executive Director. Besides the ad hoc tasks in support of the Executive Director, the Executive Secretary/Personal Assistant will be responsible for:

Organising and planning recurrent meetings and travel – including:

  • Planning, organizing and implementing approximately six yearly meetings of EuroMed Rights executive bodies in accordance with the statutes, in different locations of Europe and the MENA-region. This task will include managing all practical aspects, participating in and taking minutes;
  • Setting up meetings, missions, etc. for the Executive Director and the Executive Committee members.

Facilitating communication with the Executive Committee and partners – including:

  • Recurrent communication in French and English with EuroMed Rights Executive Committee members, members organizations and partners;
  • Translating correspondences and short documents by the Executive Director and executive members and facilitating communication among them.

Coordinating on behalf of the Executive Director – including:

  • Coordinating the content preparation of executive body meetings;
  • Organisation of work cycle of the management/taking minutes at weekly meetings etc.

Ad hoc support of the Executive Director – including:

  • Communication, media and public relations;
  • Administration and office management.

Profile, skills and background

  • A relevant university degree (e.g. business administration, political or social sciences, languages, communication or other);
  • Proven track record of event/project management and business administration;
  • Fluency (spoken and written) in English and French. Knowledge of Arabic and Danish is an asset;
  • Computer proficiency in the Office suite;
  • Dynamic, engaged, strong organisational skills and a keen eye for details;
  • You should be self-motivated, well-organised, service-oriented, efficient, capable to work under multiple stakeholder pressure in a fast, flexible and relentless manner;
  • Good communication as well as interpersonal and intercultural skills is an asset;
  • International outlook and a keen interest for human rights, international politics, democratizations in Middle East, North African and Europe is an asset;
  • Availability to travel on a regular basis (10-20 days a year).
