Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. In collaboration with more than 100 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.
We are looking to fill a research position that will be based in our Research and Knowledge Team. The Research and Knowledge Team supports the achievement of TI-S’ goals through the delivery of global research products and developing new, cutting-edge research products. It supports the organisation’s advocacy initiatives through the collection of robust evidence and meeting the research and knowledge needs of key stakeholders within the anti-corruption community.
As part of this mandate, TI has been mandated to design and implement a monitoring mechanism to assess progress in achieving the commitments made by countries and organisations attending a high-level segment organised at the 18th International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) in October 2018. In this forum, around 40 ministers, leaders of international organisations and private companies came together to discuss strategies for the international collaboration on anti-corruption and presented concrete anti-corruption action plans and commitments, as well as a joint statement, which you can find here.
As a member of the Research and Knowledge team, you will be in charge of coordinating the design and implementation of this follow-up mechanism, including the development of the methodology, design of the monitoring platform, coordination of the first round of monitoring reports and the reports to be presented at the June 2020 IACC in Korea. Additionally, you will play a relevant role in supporting the research needs of our national chapters, providing research support to various multi-country projects and quality control to the research products of the TI movement. As required, you will also contribute to a variety of organisational tasks.
We are looking for an experienced researcher, used to working in multicultural environments where diversity is seen as an asset and is highly valued.
Main function: Coordination of the design and implementation of an anti-corruption monitoring tool and provision of research support to the anti-corruption movement in support of TI’s 2020 strategic priorities.
