Position description

The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition is seeking a Development Associate to support our growing Development team. The Associate will support the organization’s fundraising efforts with a focus on membership cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and attention to detail and is committed to building and cultivating meaningful relationships. The Development Associate will report to the Director of External Relations and will be based in Washington, D.C. 

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Membership Support

  • Support the Director of External Relations in various membership responsibilities including prospect research and outreach and preparing briefing materials for the organization’s leadership.
  • Take leadership role in prospecting general members and major donors and securing new gifts.
  • Support the Development Team in managing administrative duties including maintaining fundraising records in the database, tracking incoming contributions and sending donor acknowledgements, and maintaining up to date fundraising materials and membership lists on the website. 

Donor Stewardship

  • Provide leadership in the stewarding of high-level donors through VIP events, meetings and maintaining membership benefits. 
  • Provide leadership in helping to implement the organization’s VIP events, including recruiting prospects and member participants and stewarding donors and members.
  • Play a key role in fundraising around the organization’s annual gala dinner. Help grow and enhance annual dinner by diversifying funding and stewarding participants.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will have minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject such as international relations, political science or a related field. The position requires 2-3 years of fundraising experience, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities. Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required. Knowledge of and passion for the organization’s mission is preferred.   

Compensation

Competitive salary will be offered, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The USGLC also provides a package of benefits, including health and disability insurance, retirement plan, paid annual and sick leave and federal holidays.
